Treatment Barriers and Hydraulic Control

Containment systems come in a variety of forms, including permeable barriers, where migrating contaminants are treated as they migrate in the groundwater, and physical barriers, by which migration of contaminated groundwater is diverted to a funnel or treatment zone.

Barriers can also be formed using variations of pump and treat technology, using interlocking cones of depression radiating from each abstraction well to form a barrier for groundwater flow, thus preventing the escape of contaminants.
