Groundwater Pump and Treat

In order to prevent migration away from a target area, a plume of contaminated groundwater can be contained using a series of pumped abstraction points, developing cones of depression to capture mobile contaminants.

This versatile approach is effective in treating any waterborne contaminant impact and, although requiring the installation of a small treatment plant, presents a relatively low cost solution on its own.

This approach can be supplemented to form a treatment barrier, with the installation of a gravel filled trench, or can be accelerated with the addition and recirculation of surfactant agents to flush out contaminants providing a viable remediation solution for recovery of less mobile contaminants.
